THE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE
Walks of 6–8 miles in the Yorkshire countryside, on the second Thursday of every month, with particular reference to the seasons.
Waterproofs, walking boots and packed lunch essential. Members make their own way to the starting point for the 10:30 am departure.

October and November walks
The walk on Thursday, 11 October is from Hutton-le-Hole. (GR SE705901; YO62 6UB). it is about 6 1/2 miles, with two very short climbs and a longer but quite gentle rise through woods from Lastingham. There are no stiles.
Meet at the N Yorks Moor National Park car park (Pay and Display; £4.50) for 10.30 start. There are toilets in the car park and refreshments afterwards will be taken in the Forge Tearoom.

Our traditional November meeting (8/11) will be a shorter walk from Carlton Husthwaite, just off the A19 between Easingwold and Thirsk, followed by lunch in the Carlton Inn in the village.
