Keep watching here for new Groups and Proposed new Groups!

Ageing This is one area of life where we are ALL "experts by experience", and where I would hope that sharing our experience, knowledge and insights can only be to our advantage.   It's also possible we may be able to draft in the knowledge of outside experts.  An initial meeting of the anyone interested in the Ageing Group will be held in the Woolman Room on  Monday 9th April from 2-4pm. Please contact Neil Clarke on parkgrovers@aol.com or 01904 626866 to express your interest if you have not already done so.

Listening to Jazz  If you have an interest in jazz, and would like to meet with others who may share your musical preferences, meeting to share recorded music, and also possibly attending local jazz concerts., please get in touch with groups@yorku3a.com.

Folk Music Group  Steve G is interested in setting up a Folk Music Group. "The idea would be for members who play acoustic instruments and would be interested in gathering to play folk/traditional music. We would need a venue, as the combined noise might be a bit much for a domestic setting!"

Contact Steve on 07958 486234 or email

"Cookery For Men"  will commence after the 2018 Easter holiday.  Sessions of two hours duration will be offered to groups of 4 members on alternating Thursdays from 2.00. to 4.00 pm at a venue in the Tang Hall Lane area. Any members who would be interested in learning more about this group are invited to register their initial interest  as soon as possible.

Contact Bob on 07986-527254 or 01904-796531 or email

Walking Football  Is there anyone who would like to join me in a new group?    If so please contact Debra   -  email

Square Dancing

Railway Group. York has a considerable Railway history. Not only is the city full of railway history, buildings etc but also reasonably close to four preserved railways which could be enjoyed by such a group.

If you are interested in these last two groups, please contact Rosemary or Alison, the Groups' Coordinators.  email
