PROPOSED GROUPS - SEEKING INTEREST

STAINED GLASS GROUP 1 and 2 FOR BEGINNERS.

Here is an exciting opportunity to make your own leaded light panel.

This is your invitation to experience the Sight, Sound and Smells of this Medieval craft; its design and practice brought up-to-date.

There are two studio spaces in my home in Bishopthorpe, both are on the first floor. Each space will comfortably take a maximum of 5 people, 10 in total per morning or afternoon sessions of 2 hours each. The sessions will start in January 2019, day / times to be decided between us.

There will be costs: for glass bought during a visit to a glass warehouse (by shared car transport), staged costs as required for some tools and materials and some shared costs for expendable items such as industrial diamond coated grinding heads. All costs will be kept as low as possible.

The leader is Evan Jones, a qualified teacher with long and successful experience of art, design and technology, and has taught countless pupils and adults to create in stained glass.

GIVE 'BIRTH' TO YOUR OWN FAMILY HEIRLOOM, CREATE A PERSONAL PANEL OF GLASS. ONCE YOU'VE STARTED YOU WILL WANT TO CONTINUE TO HIGHER LEVELS. THIS WILL BE POSSIBLE AS FOLLOW ON COURSES.

Please express your interest or sign up now to stainedglass@yorku3a.com

Petanque / Boules

We hope that within the next two months, a Petanque Pitch will be constructed in Glen Gardens, East Parade, Heworth. We are interested in getting together a group of people who would like to play on a regular basis and perhaps, in future, form a league to play against other groups in the area.

If any members are interested in learning more about this proposed group, please contact me to register your interest.    01904 591062 petanque@yorku3a.com

NEW GROUP JUST STARTING

Folk Music

We are a small but enthusiastic group playing traditional music on alternate Monday afternoons and we would welcome new players of (mainly) acoustic instruments.

At present we have a couple of squeezeboxes, whistles, a guitar and bass, so a fiddle or two would be very useful, but anyone who enjoys a relaxed play through of some good tunes can contact me on folk@yorku3a.com.
